Global Water Summit 2020

The Global Water Summit is an annual water industry event that attracts high-level executives from the industries, municipalities and international water companies. The 2020 edition was originally set for on 29-31 March in Madrid, Spain, but due to the worldwide Coronavirus crisis, the date was changed to 30 August - 1 September.

This year's event theme is "Challenging Assumptions". Business meetings are at the heart of the event, and over 750 top executives – including water business leaders, industrial water users, utility managers, leading water technology providers and major investors – come together to determine water’s key role in sustainable economic growth and to meet with potential partners, suppliers and clients.

The organisers state that the Summit sets out to question our assumptions about where the world is moving. How long can banks lend money at negative interest rates? What happens as we approach the peak of global population? How would we do things differently if energy costs were forever low? What if the circular economy and nature-based solutions become orthodox? How does the end of Moore’s law change the model for growth?
