Training Journalists on Climate Change Resilience and Water Resources Management

A training will be held by the Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med), in partnership with the African Center for Training of Journalists and Communicators (CAPJC), and the Association Children of the Earth Network (ARET), on December, 23-24, 2014, in Tunis, Tunisia.

The training, developed in the framework of the North Sahara Aquifer System transboundary component of the WACDEP programme, is addressed to Tunisian, Algerian and Libyan journalists, and will focus on "The challenge of sustainable water resources management under climate change conditions". The training aims to equip journalists with the necessary background knowledge to understand, analyze and report on issues regarding water resources management, climate change and water security.

The training’s first day, held at the CAPJC headquarters, will focus on presenting the climate change challenges and impacts on the sustainable management of water resources, as well as the WACDEP Program’s objectives and activities in the region, aiming to enhance regional water security and resilient development. The training’s second day will include a field visit to the Lebna Dam and the Oued Souhil pilot site for irrigation from treated waste water in the Nabeul region, organized by GWP-Med.
