Checklist before printing

An essential part of printing publications and other material is to make sure that there are no mistakes. Once printed, there is no way back. To avoid errors, GWPO has developed a checklist for what to check before the material is printed.

The checklist is work in progress, so let us know if we need to add anything.

  1. Blueprint correlates with quote.
  2. Colours correlate with original.
  3. Pages in order and Table of Contents correct.
  4. GWP logo OK (colour, size, placement).
  5. Margins too ragged or OK.
  6. Headings are correctly spelled.
  7. All logos are on it (if joint publication with other organisations).
  8. Year of publication is printed.
  9. All names correctly spelled, especially the author(s).
  10. Correct paper selected.
  11. Images blurry or OK.
  12. Inside cover information OK and updated (e.g. list of previous material).
  13. Back cover OK, that you have what you need there.
  14. GWP address, printing company name, design company, etc.
  15. Correct GWP font used in title, headings and text (compare with previous issues in the same series).
  16. If other language, make sure that title is in correct language (i.e. not English).
  17. Environmental friendly paper.
  18. Which pages are the centre spread? (Make sure that is what you want.)
  19. If there are signatures of people, make sure they are above the correct printed name.
  20. Is there text on spine? Make sure it is on the blueprint.
  21. Tables should not break across pages, if possible.
  22. Which pages are the centre spread? (Just so you know.)
  23. Size of text in table and graphs.
  24. Header and footer text okay?
