Project Ideas

Participants from each country are expected to come to the workshop with at least one project ideas that can potentially be developed into concept notes for resilience-building water projects, with the intention of subsequently advancing them to project proposals for submission to the Green Climate Fund.

The workshop concept note/Agenda received by each country participant lists all Direct Access Entities (DAEs) affiliated with the GCF. Furthermore, The National Designated Authorities in each country are listed on the GCF’s official website: www.greenclimate.fund

The NDAs are kindly requested to lead and coordinate the submission of the project ideas, preferably prioritized by the country in its existing development and/or climate action institutional architecture such as a national development plan, climate action plan, or similar. The deadline for submission is 31st August 2018.

Kindly note that submission of project ideas is a pre-requisite for workshop participation.

Refine your project ideas through the course of the workshop

The workshop will include exercises on translating draft project ideas into GCF project concept notes, and provide examples of quality project proposals that meet GCF investment requirements that the concept notes can then be advanced towards.

Post-workshop continued support for preparing concept notes

Following the workshop, participants and African countries may access continued strategic and technical support for prioritization and preparation of climate resilience water security investments through the Climate Resilience Partnership for Preparation of Water Projects that will be launched at the end of the workshop.

This Partnership will be available to participants as they advance their draft project ideas into concept notes, and further into proposals for submission to the GCF.
