This training program consisted of two parts. One part was on IWRM concepts and principles and the other was on the field application of IWRM in SWAIWRPMP. The main purpose of the training programme was to introduce the IWRM concept and its principles, and to share application experience with district level as well as regional level water managers and experts, so that they could use and share their knowledge and experience in their respective working areas. The first part of the training was held at CEGIS premises from 9th June to 11th June while the 2nd part was held in Jessore district from 11th to 14th June 2012. Around thirty (30) participants with diverse experience, from different organizations such as the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB), Bangladesh Water Partnership (BWP), Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Department of Environment(DoE), Department of Agriculture (DoA), WARPO, Khulna University, Action Aid, Environment and Population Research Centre (EPRC), Field Wing, DoF and CEGIS ) participated in the Training Program. The introductory speeches were given by the Executive Director CEGIS, Mr Giasuddin Ahmed Choudhury, Mr. Md. Kamarur Rahman Talukder, Project Director of South-west Area Integrated Water Resources Planning and Management Project (SWAIWRPMP) and Dr. K. Azharul Haq, Vice President of Bangladesh Water Partnership (BWP) respectively. After successful completion of the training program all the participants were awarded certificates of completion and necessary training materials and aids.
