Danube Floodplain project's first national stakeholder workshop for Slovakia and Czech Republic

The first national stakeholder workshop for Slovakia and Czech Republic in the frame of Danube Floodplain project will take place on 31 January at the Research Institute of Water Management, Nábr. Arm.Gen.L. Svoboda 5, Bratislava. It is organised by the Catholic University of Eichstaett Ingolstadt, the Slovak Water Management Company, Research Institute of Water Management, Povodí Moravy, and Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe.

The main objective of Danube Floodplain project is flood protection and improvement of water management with regard to the benefits and preservation of biodiversity. This first staleholder workshop will present to the Slovak and Czech stakeholders the project and the evaluation of one of the pilot areas, situated on Morava River. The stakeholders are expected to provide feedback and opinions and in this way help find the best solutions for flood protection while enhancing environmental and society benefits.
