Youth Voices from Central and Eastern Europe at COP 24

Young Water Professionals from Central and Eastern Europe will gather at COP 24 in Katowice to present their views on youth engagement in decision-making processes.

The young water professionals and advocates for water first met at GWP CEE Summer School and Youth Voices Policy Choices dialogue in July 2018, where they had the chance to meet decision-makers from different institutions and countries who advised and guided them in creating their youth vision. Since then, GWP CEE and the International Secretariat for Water have worked with the young professionals on their strategy for youth involvement and the messages they will present at COP 24.

At COP 24, Youth Voices from Central and Eastern Europe are organizing the event Youth for Water and Climate session at 12:30 on 4 December at EU Pavilion, Room Vienna. The session will focus on policy dialogue, but also on local actions undertaken by the young water professionals. The panel will explore the influence that local actions can have on policy making and vice-versa. The results of the efforts done by young changemakers in the world in the framework of innovative activities will be presented.
