Flood Risk Management and Nature-Based Solutions - 2nd Danube Floodplain Webinar

The second Danube Floodplain Webinar will focus on examples of successful nature-based solutions, connecting different projects, and understanding design and implementation

Floodplain restoration measures are among the most well-known nature-based solutions for flood risk reduction but practitioners see their limitations in comparison to technical measures when considering both their effectiveness and profitability.

The Danube Floodplain project specified on the NBS of floodplain restoration and studied its potential consequences in five pilot areas. However, other projects also dealt with this topic and considered other measures to solve flood-related problems.

Join the 2nd Danube Floodplain webinar on 7 October and learn about successful examples and understand potential issues of the design and implementation of NBS for flood risk management.

Main goals of the webinar:

  • Showing examples of successful nature-based solutions for flood risk management.
  • Connect different projects (and additional interested parties) that deal with nature-based solutions for flood risk management: what are common points and differences in the results?
  • Understanding potential open questions and issues connected to the design and implementation of NBS for flood risk management.
