The first three teams in both age groups out of 7 finalists were awarded by a one week camp at Visegrad by the Danube.
Importance of the Danube Box was underlined by the fact that European Commission has selected it as “satellite event” of the Green Week – the only Hungarian event in this category. Coca Cola, Ministry of Rural Development and Ministry of National Resources supported the competition.
The competition helps teachers in bringing up the River Danube closer to hearts and minds of young generation. It raises environmental awareness and calls the attention to sustainable use of natural resources.
The competition is based on a teaching kit called the “Danube Box”. It runs in two age categories comprising three students in a team. The teams have to pass 3 online tests related to a wide array of questions on the Danube issues and submit a creative work.
The best 7 teams in each category test their knowledge in the finale of the Danube Box competition.
