The Forum will build on the results of the political processes organized previously, like the Istanbul Water Consensus, which was adopted during the World Water Forum 5 in Istanbul.
It brings together local key players who get involved and seek the best policies and practices within the water and sanitation sector in order to meet global challenges.
To this day, about 900 cities and regions have signed the Istanbul Water Consensus, and the organizers of the World Water Forum 6 hope to reach 1,000 signatories.
GWP Hungary is currently running a campaign in the country to make local authorities aware of the Istanbul Water Consensus and join the process by signing it.
The text of the Istanbul Water Consensus has been translated into Hungarian and uploaded to the website of the Local and Regional Authorities process. In this effort GWP Hungary has joined strategic partners like the Ministry of Rural Development and the Hungarian Water Utility Association.
