The activity is supported by the German Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and the European Commission - DG ENV (through the Annual Funding of MIO-ECSDE).
The event was organized in the framework of the Petersberg Phase II / Athens Declaration Process and contributed to and supported the implementation of the GEF Strategic Partnership for the Mediterranean Large Marine Ecosystems (GEF SPM) and the Mediterranean Component of the EU Water Initiative (MED EUWI).
The purpose of the Workshop was be to build capacity of stakeholders on IWRM and to equip them with the proper knowledge / tools that will enhance their skills to participate in the River/Lake management planning in the extended Drin River basin.
The Workshop also aimed to assist the implementation of the GEF “Lake Shkoder/Skadar Integrated Ecosystem Management” Project by empowering the capacities of the future members of the working groups that shall function under and in assistance to the Joint Committee to be established in the Shkoder basin.
An Information Note of the Shkodra Workshop is attached.The workshop was targeted for staff of competent national authorities, local authorities, joint commissions and bodies, management authorities of protected areas, NGOs and CSOs, other stakeholder groups from Albania, Former Yugoslavic Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo (under interim UN administration).
