Technical Workshop on Project Preparation

The Technical Workshop on Project Preparation for Transformational Climate Resilience Water Project Concepts in Asia

 15-16 October, Manila, Philippines

The Global Water Partnership, in collaboration with its Regional Water Partnerships in South Asia, South East Asia, and Central Asia and the Caucasus, with technical inputs from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) organized a “Technical Workshop on Project Preparation for Transformational Climate Resilience Water Project Concepts in Asia”. The workshop took place at Asian Development Bank (ADB) Headquarters in Manila, Philippines, as a pre-forum event of the 6th Asia Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum.

80 participants – comprised of Green Climate Fund (GCF) National Designated Authorities (NDAs), GCF Direct Access Entities (DAEs), and decision makers in Water Ministries and agencies – from 18 countries across Asia attended the workshop. The workshop responded to countries’ needs and expressed demand for support to strengthen the capacity of NDAs, DAEs, and Water Ministries and agencies to prepare climate resilient water projects that meet GCF investment criteria.
