GWP-C’s Headquarters Moves to The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) works to support Caribbean countries in the sustainable development and management of their water resources. Since being established in 2004, the regional organisation has been hosted by its long-standing Partner, the National Institute of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST), in Trinidad.

Now in its thirteenth (13th) year of operations, GWP-C’s headquarters will remain in Trinidad but will be based at The University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine Campus within the Engineering Institute of the Faculty of Engineering.

As GWP-C’s Secretariat and programmes continue to grow, it is embracing this move and the prospect of the new and exciting opportunities it would foster in working even closer with The University, which is a Partner through the Engineering Institute. The UWI St. Augustine Campus is also home to a few other GWP-C Partner organisations.

The UWI is the foremost tertiary learning and research institution within the English-speaking Caribbean, with its primary mission being the advancement of education and creation of knowledge through excellence in teaching, research, innovation, public service, intellectual leadership and outreach, to support the inclusive development of the Caribbean region and beyond.

GWP-C is committed to working with its over one hundred (100) Partners in more than twenty (20) Caribbean territories to share knowledge and strengthen interaction and co-operation at all levels to sustain an integrated approach to water resources management in the region. This focus is seamlessly connected to various aspects of The University’s vision.
