The GWP Network Meeting – The Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Session, takes place after the AGM (October 21st, 2020) at 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Eastern Caribbean Time). This Continental session will allow GWP Caribbean, GWP Central and GWP South America to have dialogue, engage and learn from each other, and share opportunities. Partners must register in order to participate in the Network Meeting by October 19th, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. (Eastern Caribbean Time) here: https://bit.ly/3l0ARTF.

Partners will discuss three (3) major questions at the Network Meeting which are:

GLOBAL QUESTION

  • The Covid-19 crisis impacts water resources management today and will likely have long-lasting impacts due to the socio-economic crisis and shifting political priorities. As water actors, how do you adapt your work to continue bringing change to achieve water security? Can we identify ‘success factors’ to make change happen in this new environment?

REGIONAL QUESTIONS

  • Climate Change: How can GWP and its Partners work together to mobilise resources geared towards the improvement of water security, in an effort to build climate resilience in the water sector?
  • SDG 6: Covid-19 has put WASH in the forefront of the development agendas around the world, how can we (as a network) ensure that this experience translates into the implementation of SDG 6 and in particular SDG 6.5.1 (Degree of IWRM Implementation)?
