The Water Resources Authority of Jamaica the GWP’C Partner of the Year

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean extends congratulations to The Water Resources Authority of Jamaica, as our Partner of the Year, 2024. The organisation has been dedicated to advancing sustainable water resource management, through efforts such as capacity building, that has impacted the enhancement of water management practices throughout the region.

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) is thankful for the Commission’s support, this year to Mrs. Terrisha Walcott-Pierre during her Master of Public Health (MPH) Internship at the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean.

This collaboration has played a vital role in fostering the development of future leaders, like Terrisha in water management as we are certain that her experiences will be able to assist her in her field, as a demonstrator at the St. George’s University.

This collaboration underscores the Authority’s ongoing commitment to nurturing emerging leaders in water management and advocating for innovative strategies that tackle water-related issues, thereby laying the groundwork for sustainable practices that will benefit communities for generations to come.

 Mr. Geoffrey Marshall

Mr. Geoffrey Marshall-Deputy Managing Director stated, “The WRA is grateful to GWP-Caribbean for their gracious award to us of the honorific "Partner of the Year". We acknowledge your appreciation of our commitment to sustainable water resources management, and we were very happy to accommodate Mrs. Terrisha Walcott-Pierre as an intern in the furtherance of regional water management capacity building. The WRA looks forward to continued partnership with GWP-C as we strengthen the Caribbean's water management framework in all possible way.”

As we commemorate this significant achievement and recognise the Water Resources Authority of Jamaica, we eagerly anticipate future collaborations and support, as we believe that together, we can continue to make substantial progress towards a future in which sustainable water management is a reality.
