The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) is hosting a three (3) day national training workshop in St. Lucia on December 7^th – 9^th, 2015 entitled “Building Climate Resilience in the Caribbean Water Sector: An Integrated Water Resources Management Approach.”

#COP21 commonly referred to as the United Nations Climate Change Conference is the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). #COP21 kicked off on November 30^th and runs until December 11th, 2015 in France. 

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) is recruiting a Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Manager. He/she will provide strategic leadership and management for the mobilisation of sustainable funding for the GWP and the Global Water Partnership Organisation (GWPO).

Global Water Partnership (GWP) welcomes the aspirational 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by Member States at the UN General Assembly on September 25, 2015. The transformational vision of the agenda is ambitious and will need an unwavering commitment on the part of everyone. GWP will play its part.

The Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA), the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) and the United Nations Environment Programme Caribbean Regional Coordinating Unit (UNEP CAR/RCU) through the Global Environment Facility - funded Caribbean Regional Fund for Wastewater Management (GEF CReW) Project hosted the 11^th Annual High Level Forum (HLF) of Caribbean Ministers responsible for Water on August 27^th and 28^th, 2015 in Miami, Florida.

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) launched its new Youth Engagement Strategy at Stockholm World Water Week on August 25^th, 2015. The youth strategy supports the wider GWP “Towards 2020” Strategy as does the GWP Gender Strategy, which was launched in August 2014. 

The University of the West Indies’ Centre for Resource Management and Environmental Studies (CERMES) in collaboration with the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) and Columbia University’s International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI) are conducting a social network analysis of Caribbean water resource professionals.

The Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH) will be offering online courses in GIS for Hydrological Technicians and Flood Hazard Mapping during the months of September and October 2015.

In September, the United Nations will finalise a Post-2015 Development Agenda known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs follow and expand on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which expire at the end of the year and will be “the global community’s plan of action” for all dimensions of sustainable development (economic, social and environmental) for the next fifteen (15) years.

For the first time in its 24 year history, the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) will convene its Annual Conference and Exhibition in the mainland USA. It takes place at the InterContinental Hotel in downtown Miami from the 24th to 28th August 2015. The theme is “Improving the Quality of Life with Water and Waste Management Solutions.
