GWP-C Water Academy for Youth – Vote Now for Your Favourite Caribbean Water Story

On July 6th, 2021, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) launched its first-ever Water Academy for Youth (GWP-C WAY). This pilot programme which comes to an end on September 28th, 2021 was specially designed for Caribbean young leaders and professionals between the ages of 20 – 35 years to build their capacity in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).

GWP-C WAY Cohort members are representative of the following twelve (12) countries: Barbados, Belize, Curaçao, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Over the past two (2) months, the Cohort has been exposed to a series of training sessions on IWRM and other areas; one of these being “Storytelling in Water.” This session was facilitated by Dr. Monica Morrison, an international Storytelling, Knowledge Management and Communications expert. As one of their learning assignments within the Academy, participants were asked to develop Caribbean water stories, with the option of submitting their final stories into the GWP-C WAY Story Awards.

One of the GWP-C WAY Story Awards (The People’s Choice Award) will be determined by public votes. We therefore invite YOU to watch or listen to the various Caribbean water stories below, developed by members of the GWP-C WAY Cohort and vote for your favourite stories.
