The objective of the consultation is to develop a plan of action for the Investment Programme and Water Resources Master Plan for Grenada, in alignment with the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Programme of Action.
To facilitate the process, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C), in collaboration with the Government of Grenada and the Caribbean Community Climate Change Center (CCCCC), is coordinating the regional programme. It will therefore hold a two-day consultation on December 3rd and 4th, 2019 at the West Conference Room, Kirani James Athletic Stadium, Queen’s Park, St. George’s.
The Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) Support Programme is a new and innovative initiative. Its goal is to support country and regional responses to SDG 6.5 (IWRM – a cross-sectoral policy approach to water resources management), as an entry point to accelerate the implementation of SDG 6 and other water-related goals.
SDG 6 being “Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.” The global Programme is being coordinated by Global Water Partnership (GWP) in close collaboration with the UNEP-DHI Centre and Cap-Net UNDP.
In the Caribbean, Grenada has been selected to be part of the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme. The Programme connects a unique blend of partners representing governments, civil society and the private sector, in the spirit of SDG 17 on Partnerships for the Goals.
