Updates from the water change maker awards

The Water ChangeMaker Awards was launched during the World Water Week, 22nd March 2020. The submission of an application was opened from 6 April and last until 14 June 2020, after extend-ed for one week. The award aims to make visible the teams and organizations that shape water decisions that build climate resili-ence – and to create and support a community of ChangeMakers who contribute and learn from each other in shaping the lessons learned about how to make positive change happen. The initiative is designed to make sure that everybody will benefit from oppor-tunities to Connect, Collaborate, and to Celebrate.

Over 350 individuals and groups from over 80 countries submitted their personal experience of having influenced water decisions to build climate resilience by the Water ChangeMaker Awards deadline, June 14. Thank you to all the ChangeMakers who shared their stories and to the ChangeMaker Partners who helped mobilise and spread the word. The screening proces was carried out on 22 July and we now enter the next phase of the Awards: the judging.

the selected participants will have to pass the first round jury by the 1st September to reach semi-finals, and the second round jury will take place on 15th October for those that will make to finals. The winners and the awards ceremony will take place at COP26 in Glasgow in 2021.
