In Nigeria 22nd of March 2019 was a new experience in the Country as the Honourable Minister of Water Resources- Nigeria, Engr. Suleiman H. Adamu, led the entire Water Resources family to Sabon Piko Village to commission a Solar powered borehole Water Project in Commemoration of the 2019 World Water Day Celebration themed “Leaving no one behind”. Good will messages were delivered by some sponsors including private enterprises, NGOs, professional compagnies, bilateral donors, etc.
The commissioning brought together over 300 people and the community members who were overjoyed by the project. The District head of Shere Village, High Chief Ezekiel Sadiq thanked the Federal Government for providing a source of potable water to the community.
In Togo, the Fair/Exhibition: the Ministry in charge of water in Togo organized a series of activities, including a fair/exhibition for stakeholders in the water and sanitation sector in Togo.
TonFuturTonClimat project was highlighted by Eau Vive in its exhibition booth with much information to visitors on the objectives, expected results and activities planned within the framework of this project. The project's leaflets were shared with the sector's stakeholders.
In Benin, in the mind of leaving no one behind, the Youth Network for the Green Economy (REJEVE) implementing the project #TonFuturTonClimat organized an awareness session to celebrate the World Water Day.
This was meant to raise awareness in the Yakabissi community on the adoption of improved stoves, and to put the issue of water back at the heart of development issues at all levels including individuals, regardless of their rank, social, economic, cultural or political affiliation.
About 350 people of all categories participated in the night session. The sustainable solutions and initiatives of the CWP-Benin to preserve the head of the Mekrou basin were discussed as well as the urgent need spread the use of improved stoves in Yakabissi.
Two sports activities (football match and relay race) were organized with the involvement of young people and children from the villages surrounding Yakabissi.
