The aim of the National Water and Sanitation Forum (FNEA) is to mobilise citizens and the general public, and to promote multi-stakeholder dialogue on water and sanitation issues. Stakeholders (professionals, decision-makers, users and citizens) thus have the opportunity to discuss and share problems, solutions and priorities, to make strong commitments (according to the different categories and specific responsibilities), and to define clear messages and positions to defend within the international water and sanitation community.
Under the patronage of the President of the Transition, Head of State, represented by the Minister of State for Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Government Spokesman, the Forum opened on 22 April in the Ouaga 2000 Conference Hall.
The 4th National Water and Sanitation Forum is organised around conference-debates (plenary and thematic sessions) and public events (a sports event, an artistic stage, an exhibition showcasing exemplary initiatives and projects, and an awards night). It brings together several hundred participants from state structures (government authorities, parliamentary authorities, central and decentralised technical services), local authorities, the private sector, civil society, water agencies, technical and financial partners working in the water and sanitation sector, users of water and sanitation services, etc.
GWP West Africa is a technical partner providing technical and financial support for the organisation of this year's event, in particular by participating in the work of the committees and chairing the sessions, as well as providing financial support for the overall organisation of the event and the Trophies Night.
