The Country Water Partnership of Benin organized in the process of designating non-state actors to the National Water Council (CNE), a workshop on 21 August 2019 in Cotonou to consult and define the mechanism for the representation of the non-state structures of the 2nd mandate of the CNE.

The criteria defined are based on these different categories: Fishermen's organisations, Associations of women working in the water sector, Professional Farmers' Organizations, Professional Breeders' Organizations, Private Water Production and/or Distribution Companies, Private Water Sanitation Services, Benin Country Water Partnership, Environmental NGOs, NGOs working in the fisheries sector,  NGOs working in the field of agriculture and NGOs working in the livestock sector.

On 05 September 2019 in Bohicon, the stakeholders of the designated categories were sensitized to appoint from among themselves a technically valid member to represent them in the National Water Council. The designated individuals will be strengthened during the month of October to prepare them for a quality intervention during the second term of office.
