About 20 representing key institutions on climate resilience and water issues in the country took part in the event.
The main objective of the training workshop is to build the capacity of participants on the mobilization of climate finance resources. Specifically, it built a harmonized understanding of the characteristics and investment criteria of the GCF among the participants who exchanged on the issue, the history, and the main bottlenecks to access to climate finance. This was an opportunity for participants to appropriate and understand the approaches, tools and methods for developing and submitting concept notes to the GCF.
The national training workshop developed a framework for periodic documentation of participants' feedback on the use and valorization of the knowledge acquired.
Participants included representatives of the General Directorate for Water, the National Fund for the Environment and Climate (FNEC), the Directorate General for the Environment and Climate, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, the National Water Institute, the UNFCCC Focal Point, the Association of Municipalities of Atacora-Donga (ACAD), the Local Water Partnership of Atacora-Donga, the Local Water Partnership of Ouéme-Plateau, the Benin Country Water Partnerships, Global Water Partnership in West Africa represented by the regional programme Manager, Yaovi KOGBE.
