Several information and awareness-raising meetings were held to facilitate this consultation framework with the various categories of stakeholders. Several avenues of reflection, proposals and recommendations have emerged that require close monitoring and coordination of actions. So, a workshop to report the results and validate the action plan, which takes into account the recommendations of the information and awareness-raising tour of the technical services of the State, Communities and Parliamentarians on IWRM, was held on 16 May 2019 in Bamako.
The meeting brought together several public sector structures, including the National Directorate of Agriculture (DNA), the Agency for Environment and Sustainable Development (AEDD), the Niger River Basin Agency (ABFN), the National Directorate of Hydraulics (DNH), the National Energy Directorate (DNE) and Mali-Météo, National Directorate of Water and Forests (DNEF), National Directorate of Fisheries (DNP), National Directorate of Rural Engineering (DNGR), National Directorate of Pollution and Nuisance Control (DNACPN), National Agency of Management of purification plants of Mali (ANGESEM), National Direction of Geology and Mines (DNGM); NGOs and Civil Society (CAFO, CN-CIEPHA); Parliamentarians and representatives of the communities of Bamako and Kati; and the Media.
The meeting provided an opportunity to share information gathered from stakeholders during the exchange visits; to review and validate the draft action plan resulting from the recommendations of the IWRM tour in order to accelerate the implementation of IWRM in Mali.
The workshop adopted the action plan presented subject to the consideration of improvements resulting from the discussions and group work.
