IWRM in Côte d'Ivoire, PNECI intends to mobilise national stakeholders

CWP Côte d'Ivoire (PNECI) requested and obtained an audience with the UNDP Resident Representative in Côte d'Ivoire. The audience enabled PNECI to inform the UNDP representative about the IWRM operationalisation process in Côte d'Ivoire and to request his support for its implementation.

As the national GWP platform in Côte d'Ivoire, PNECI's objective is to contribute to the fight against poverty and to sustainable development by working actively to ensure that Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) is a concern freely shared by all Ivorians and all those living on Ivorian soil and that they respect its principles in their activities involving water resources.

For some time now, PNECI has been taking multifaceted action to achieve its objectives. It intends to mobilise national stakeholders in a dialogue and exchanges that could enable water stakeholders to set up a consensual platform for exchange led by the PNECI, an appropriate framework for IWRM at local level due to its experience in the field.

The International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the GIZ and the Directorate-General for Water Resources support the PNECI's actions to ensure synergy between initiatives in the field. The PNECI works in close collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Forests and the Ministry of Water and Sanitation to support its work with Côte d'Ivoire's development partners for its large-scale actions to ensure synergy between the initiatives of players in the field.
