The VBA Executive Director, Mr. Robert DESSOUASSI expressed gratitude to GWP for the initiative and said that he thinks that he values the collaboration with GWP-WA and would like the MOU signed 8 years ago in 2010 be reviewed to take into account new evolutions.
A new is called for February 16 at GWP-WA conference room to discuss any issue of interest to both institutions.
Another meeting was called at the offices of IUCN West and Central Africa programme (PACO) based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. IUCN/PACO and GWP-WA have collaborated for the last ten years on many issues including transboundary, climate, media training, IWRM implementation, etc.
Both institutions are still uniting efforts around a number of initiatives that need to be taken further and at some pint scaled up. Professor Aboubacar AWAISS with the Programme officer, Mrs. Sandrine SANKARA, discussed with GWP WA delegation including the Executive Secretary, Mr. Armand HOUANYE and Programme Officer, Mrs. Félicité VODOUNHESSI all possibilities and promised to meet again to bring out results of ongoing consultations with potential donors.
