RICC project in Benin, a new film released

CWP Benin has just released a new film on its work aiming at processing invasive aquatic plants, the water jacinth. The CWP is planning to collaborate with a Nigerian entrepeneur that is developing and promoting green energy and biofuel, SMEFUNDS. The aim is the production and marketing of ethanol gel.

A delegation of ICDE Nokoué supported by CWP Benin visited in 2014 the ethanol gel production plant of the company SMEFUNDS in Lagos, Nigeria. It is following this visit and to provide a solution to the invasion of the rivers by water hyacinth, that a pilot project was submitted to the AfDB for the area of Lake Nokoué - Porto Novo Lagoon complex. The AfDB has granted funding for the implementation of this project for a period of two years.

The film expresses the need to bring this idea into implementation.
