The Malian civil society positions on waste management in Bamako

The National Coalition of the International Drinking Water and Sanitation Campaign (CN-CIEPA/WASH) in partnership with the International Water and Sanitation Centre (IRC) are mobilizing civil society organizations (including the CWP) to position themselves on the rationale of waste management in the Malian capital city Bamako.

A position paper was presented during a workshop on May 17, 2018 in Bamako.

The objective of the meeting is to contribute to improving the skills of CSOs and media members of the Citizen Alliance for Water and Sanitation/Mali on waste management in Bamako, the financing of the WASH sector and the satisfaction of users of WASH services and to bring decision-makers to take appropriate measures for better solid and liquid waste management in the Bamako district.

Today, the waste management situation in the city of Bamako has always been a source of concern for the population, as it constitutes a public health danger.
