The workshop was opened on Thursday 24 November 2022, by Mr. Jean Pierre FIOGBE, Director of Foresight, Policies and Strategies (DPPS) of the General Directorate of Water with the effective presence of the Executive Secretary of the CWP-Benin, Mr. André ZOGO.
Twenty-seven (27) participants took part in the workshop in person and online. Representatives of the following structures were present: Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (DPAF, DSA); Ministry of Living Environment and Sustainable Development (DGEC, ABE, FNEC, DGDU); Ministry of State in charge of Economy and Finance (INStaD); Ministry of State in charge of Development and Coordination of Government Action (DPAF, DGCS-ODD-PF GLASS); Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (DPAF); Ministry of Nursery and Primary Education (DPAF); Ministry of Interior and Public Security (ANPC); Ministry of Energy (DGRE); Ministry of Water and Mines (DGEau, ANAEP-MR, SONEB); Civil Society (ALCRER/CANEA); and the Mono River Basin Authority. The workshop was also attended online by representatives of the Global Water Partnership in West Africa (GWP-WA) and the Africa Coordination Unit of the WACDEP-G Programme in South Africa.
At the end of the workshop:
- The main stakeholders in Benin have appropriated the WASSMO and AIP Scorecard indicators;
- The data contained in the AIP Scorecard table is improved by the observations, comments and recommendations of Benin's key stakeholders
- The data contained in the AIP Scorecard table are validated on the basis of contributions from key stakeholders
The national platform for data collection of the WASSMO system for the year 2023 is established.
