Module 1 introduces the process of early warning for floods and droughts. Module 2 is about ''Communication and Dissemination of Flood and Drought Early Warnings''. As for module 3, it deals with ''decision support to flood and drought early warning'' and module 4 is related to ''rapid assessment and response to early warning to floods and droughts.
The course also includes an optional live event to take part via web technologies (Zoom) at the end of the course, as well as regular online communications with course instructors and fellow learners. The live session and online communications allow learners to ask questions, share their regional issues and experiences, and deepen their knowledge by discussing course content with their peers and instructors.
The e-learning modules are jointly developed by GWP-WA in collaboration with WMO and VBA with the support of experts from West Africa, in particular from the riparian countries of the Volta Basin. The course development team is made up of technical managers from the VFDM project and external experts, under the supervision of the Technical Assistant of the VFDM project within the GWP-WA Executive Secretariat.
Over a hundred participants from the six countries are registered to take part in the training which is benefitting from the technical support of the CapNet.
