The participants were drawn from all district assemblies that fall within the basin as well as key institutions including water users and regulators of water related issues such as Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Minerals Commission, Forestry Commission, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, the Regional Coordinating Council, Civil Society Organisations and the consultants in charge of the Investment Plan preparation Study. In all, 44 participants were present for the meeting.
Presentation at the meeting were made by the White Volta Basin Officer, Mr. Aaron B. Aduna made a presentation on the mandate of the White Volta Basin Board. Also, the Water Resources Engineer in charge of surface water at WRC, Dr. Bob Alfa presented Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) tool as the background tool to elicit information and a guide to the review process.
By the end of the 3 days, participants had identified the issues which should be addressed by the plan upon revision, some mitigation measures to be adopted with specific deadlines and the institutions to constitute the new Board.
