The members of the Technical Committee and reviewed the roles and responsibilities conferred on them, the 2014-2019 strategy of GWP in implementation progress, the position paper on the strategic role of the Global Water Partnership (GWP ) in Agenda 2030 to sustainable development and the actions planned by the region to the definition of the 2017-2019 work program that takes into account the regional context, the advent of ODD and paradigm which wants the NCB be strengthened to serve as a base for operations of GWP.
The meeting of the Technical Committee has raised the ideas of experts in the formulation of the 2017-2019 Work Plan, to position the lines of intervention of the Technical Committee in the activities, particularly in its strategic dimension of knowledge management and its collaboration with the global GWP TEC.
The Chairman of the Regional Technical Committee, Dr. Yaw Opoku-Ankomah and his colleagues are strongly committed to make their contribution to the actions of GWP in the sub-region, based on Scientific and Technical Committees in the country when in instead, coping with the global GWP technical Committee, but on the specific thematic priority in West Africa.
The CBF had a one day meeting with the Technical Committee members who have had their first meeting since the AP meeting of Cotonou in May 2015 in Ouagadougou on 30 and 31st March 2016. The first regional Technical Committee meeting was an opportunity to meet and know each other. The RTC is a consultative body of GWP WA of four members including a Chair, Dr. Yaw Opoku-Ankomah from Ghana.
The Steering Committee is planned to start their electronic consultations of April 6 to finish on April 15, 2016.
During his stay in Ouagadougou Pr. AFOUDA met with Dr. Amadou Hamma MAIGA, Director General of 2IE, a strategic partner of GWP WA.
