A meeting of Country Water Partnerships (CWP) was organized on 6th May 2013 in Accra in preparation of the Assembly of Partners meeting on 7 May. This meeting gathered chairs and designated delegates of 10 out the 13 CWP in the region. It is a great opportunity to exchange with the regional secretariat, sharing experiences and update on ongoing developments in the GWP network at regional and global levels.
The greatest problem facing most the CWP is the region is funds to finance their activities. Most of them do not have a functioning secretariat to follow the daily activities of the CWP because mainly of lack of funds.
Communication issues between CWP and the regional office and among themselves were discussed as well as accreditation ones. At date 5 CWP have got their accreditation as partners of GWP and the last AP held in 2012 had recommended that all remaining CWPs do an effort to meet accreditation requirements and get it done by the end of 2013.
A report produced by this meeting was presented to the Assembly of Partners.
