On March 5^th, 2014, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) welcomed Mr. Wayne Joseph as its new Regional Coordinator.

The United Nations' (UN) World Water Day is held on March 22nd each year to focus attention on critical water issues.

Our partner, the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) is seeking to recruit an Executive Director, to be stationed at its Secretariat which is headquartered in St. Joseph, Trinidad.

The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has a unique global water information system, AQUASTAT, developed since 1993 by the Land and Water Division. The main objective of the programme is to systematically select the most reliable information on hydrological resources and water use in each country, as well as to make this information available in a standard format for interested global, regional and national users.

Under its Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) for the Caribbean, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) is seeking a suitable Consultant to conduct an assessment and create a database of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) initiatives that foster climate resilience in the Caribbean.

The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA), the Caribbean Council for Science and Technology (CCST), the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI), The University of the West Indies (UWI), the Trinidad and Tobago Film Company (TTFC) and Columbus Communications Trinidad Limited (FLOW) have launched the 2^nd Caribbean Science and Agriculture Film and Video Competition targeting young professionals. The theme of this year’s competition is “Adding Value to Local Foods.”

As capacity-building support to its Partner organisations, the Global Water Partnership (GWP) together with the University of Dundee, will offer scholarships for 30 participants to undertake a module in International Water Law, in Dundee from June 9^th - 20^th, 2014.

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) in partnership with the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre  (CCCCC) is implementing a Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) for the Caribbean. WACDEP aims to directly support the CARICOM agenda on climate change through support to the implementation of water related adaptation actions as defined in the Implementation Plan for a Regional Framework for Achieving Development Resilient to Climate Change.

Five (5) Caribbean Ministers with responsibility for water resources management from Barbados, Anguilla, The Commonwealth of Dominica, Nevis and the Turks and Caicos Islands, and five (5) senior ministerial/ government representatives from Saint Kitts, Grenada, Antigua and Barbuda, Guadeloupe and Belize have endorsed recommendations for placing greater value on wastewater in the region and its role in the holistic management of water in Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
