The main achievements are:
- The WACDEP regional team had email and telephone exchanges with the finance consultant based in the coordination unit in Stockholm;
- Iterative exchanges were conducted with the VBA as part of the conduct of the activity;
- Development with the support of the finance consultant of a concept note for developing a draft document for the establishment of "an early-warning system for Droughts, floods, inundations and diffusion of pollution" in the Volta basin;
- Development of ToRs for the recruitment of a consultant at the regional level to support VBA in the process of "Project preparation and financing." As part of this activity achieving a compilation and analysis of available data on the financing and preparation of regional projects, the consultant will provide for a needs assessment plan to strengthen the capacity of planners of various national and regional institutions and partners. The recruitment of a regional consultant will be done in December 2014.
