The exchanges focused on strengthening the collaboration between GWP-WA and MBA since a MOU was signed between the two institutions in December 2020. A number of concrete support actions to the MBA have been initiated by GWP bringing onboard strategic partners including the Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS), IUCN-PACO, UNEP, Global Mechanism of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCDD). GWP efforts are well appreciated by the MBA Executive Direction.
MBA is the latest established and operational River basin management organization in West Africa. Its headquarters is in Cotonou, Benin. The MBA covers the Mono basin shared by Togo and Benin.
