CWP Benin improves university training curriculum on water governance and integrity

On Friday 29th May 2020, the official ceremony for the presentation of the master’s level module on Governance and Integrity in the water sector to the Rector of the University of Abomey-Calavi took place.

This aims to provide the National Water Institute (INE) with technical support for the teaching of Water Integrity at both bachelor’s and master’s levels, thanks to the collaboration between INE, the Country Water Partnership of Benin and the Water Integrity Promotion Network (WIN). A similar ceremony was held in 2017 to deliver the Bachelor level module.

The CWP-Benin got the said document validated on 14 and 15 May 2020 in the presence of the teachers of INE followed by its editing and printing of the finalized document which was handed over to the Rector of the UAC on Friday 29 May 2020. Thus, the National Water Institute has been provided with a technical document for the teaching of Governance and Integrity in the water sector in the trainings it gives to its learners. This module complements that of the bachelor's level and promotes the consolidation of the topic among the students. Through these courses, INE contributes to the employment of executives who have appropriated the principles and values of integrity in the water sector, a hope for good governance in the sector.
