Winrock International visits GWP WA to strengthen partnership

A WINROCK International team visited GWP West Africa on November 14, 2019 to exchange on the implementation of their project intitled "Terre Eau Vive".

Winrock International is implementing a "Terre Eau Vie" (Earth Living Water) project as part of a USAID financed Program on enhanced Resilience in the Sahel (RISE 2) in Niger and Burkina Faso. The aim is to improve social and ecological risk management systems through three main components: improved water security, improved sustainable and productive land use, and better management of shocks, risks and tensions.
Mr. Patrice BEAUJAULT, the project assistant manager met with GWP WA secretariat to analyze the possibilities for developing synergies with the "Integrating Flood and Drought Management and Early Warning for Climate Change Adaptation in the Volta Basin (VFDM)" project funded by the Adaptation Fund and the "Land Water Project" funded by USAID.
The project is being implemented by WINROCK International in collaboration with Tetra Tech in fifteen (15) rural municipalities in Burkina Faso. The project, which began in February 2019, will end in February 2024 with a total amount of approximately 38 million US dollars, one third of which will be devoted to activities in Burkina Faso.
