Ghana: WACDEP Capacity Building launched

The Capacity Development component of WACDEP under the theme “Economics of Adaptation, Water Security and Climate Resilient Development In Africa" has been launched by the Ghana Country Water Partnership (CWP-Ghana) on 18th February, 2014. The event was held at Erata Hotel in Accra, Ghana during the organisation of the first Module of the workshop.

The event was aimed at bringing out the objectives for organising the workshop to stakeholders and participating institutions. Present at the Launch were participants from institutions such as the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD), the Water Resources Commission (WRC), the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), the Regional Planning Coordinating Units of the three Northern Regions, the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Ghana WatSan Journalists Network (GWJN), Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS), Hydrological Services Department (HSD), Ghana Irrigation Development Agency (GIDA) and representatives from participating institutions.  Also present were the Chairman of the CWP-Ghana Steering Committee who chaired the function, the National Training Coordinator. The welcome address was given by the Acting Executive Secretary of the Water Resources Commission (WRC). The occasion was moderated by a member of the Steering Committee.   

Gracing the event was the Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Honourable Dr. Bernice Adinku Heloo who launched the Capacity Development programme.group picture
