Action 13 – Develop applied scientific research on IWRM-related issues

In 2021, with the lead of the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity (GRUN) and with the technical support of GWP Central America through the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme, a wide number of public-private actors in the water sector worked together to define appropriate and strategic responses for advancing in IWRM. The following action was defined as part of that process and identified as a priority action included in the action plan.

The purpose of this action is to promote applied scientific research on IWRM-related issues. In particular, it aims to implement this goal by doing research for modelling tools for at-risk aquifers, on water ecosystem management in autonomous regions. This must be carried out with coordinated actions between government institutions and academia.
