Action 6 - Develop sub-national regulations for IWRM

In 2021, with the lead of the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity (GRUN) and with the technical support of GWP Central America through the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme, a wide number of public-private actors in the water sector worked together to define appropriate and strategic responses for advancing in IWRM. The following action was defined as part of that process and identified as a priority action included in the action plan.

The purpose of this action is to support the development of municipal water policies for IWRM that are consistent with the territory's diversity, environmental ordinances, and in alignment with the National Waters General Law, prioritizing basins 69, 45, 64 and 72.
