Action 9 – Establish multi-level training programmes

In 2021, with the lead of the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity (GRUN) and with the technical support of GWP Central America through the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme, a wide number of public-private actors in the water sector worked together to define appropriate and strategic responses for advancing in IWRM. The following action was defined as part of that process and identified as a priority action included in the action plan.

The purpose of this action is to develop multi-level training programmes to instruct community managers for 23 protected areas for capacity building through the field school-campesino/campesino methodology as well as to reinforce the capacities of municipal officials, water users, NGOs and the private sector. It also outlines the establishment of public-private collaboration agreements for the design and the implementation of academic courses on issues related to IWRM.
