Action 31 - Develop programmes and reforms that take into account youth and gender needs and encourage their involvement

Between 2018 and 2019, the Ministry of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Country Water Partnership of Kazakhstan, brought together stakeholders from government agencies, river basin organisations, development partners, NGOs, civil society, academia, and the private sector to define a series of strategic actions for advancing on IWRM in Kazakhstan. The following action was defined as part of that process and identified as a priority action to be included in an action plan.

The purpose of this action is to foster participation of youth and women in water management by developing and implementing programmes that encourage participation of women and youth and take their needs into account.
