In 2018, the Water Resources Commission and the Ghana Country Water Partnership, under the lead of the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources, brought together stakeholders from national and county government agencies, development partners, NGOs, civil society, and academia to define a series of strategic actions for advancing on IWRM in Ghana. The following action was defined as part of that process and identified as a priority action to be included in an action plan. The purpose of this action is to ensure a coherent engagement with relevant stakeholders towards implementation of the global commitments on availability and inclusive, sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. It aims to achieve this goal by supporting the review of the National Water Policy to address emerging issues in the national context and align it with SDG 6 and other water-related targets. The policy is one of the key activities and frameworks of action of the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources and it is therefore crucial that it stays relevant and adapts to the evolving national context.
