Ghana - Institutions and Participation

Action 3 - Develop Information material / Framework on opportunities in IWRM practices to engage the Business Community in IWRM activities

In 2018, the Water Resources Commission and the Ghana Country Water Partnership, under the lead of the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources, brought together stakeholders from national and county government agencies, development partners, NGOs, civil society, and academia to define a series of strategic actions for advancing on IWRM in Ghana. The following action was defined as part of that process and identified as a priority action to be included in an action plan. The purpose of this action is to foster engagement of the private sector in water resources management and raise awareness to the opportunities for IWRM and corporate water stewardship. It aims to reach this goal by mapping out opportunities for businesses to engage in IWRM implementation and disseminating the information to the relevant stakeholders.
