Action 4 - Build Capacity of Water related Stakeholders in IWRM to achieve SDG 6.5 targets

In 2018, the Water Resources Commission and the Ghana Country Water Partnership, under the lead of the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources, brought together stakeholders from national and county government agencies, development partners, NGOs, civil society, and academia to define a series of strategic actions for advancing on IWRM in Ghana. The following action was defined as part of that process and identified as a priority action to be included in an action plan. The purpose of this action is to foster engagement of direct and indirect stakeholders in integrated water resource management through capacity development. The plan is to conduct a gap analysis of stakeholder capacity in IWRM to better understand which knowledge gaps to be addressed in capacity development initiatives designed with the support of universities and training & research institutions.
