François Tetero is the current Chairperson of the Global Water Partnership Eastern Africa (GWPEA) as well as the Water Partnership-Rwanda. He worked for the Government of Rwanda under various positions including heading the Water Resources Management Department from 2017 to 2020 in the former Rwanda Water and Forestry Authority where he was leading the management of water resources in Rwanda
His experience includes trans-boundary cooperation where he was on the technical advisory committee of the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) from 2015 to 2020 and chaired the technical advisory committee of the Lake Kivu and Rusizi River Basin Organization (ABAKIR) from 2018 to 2020.
François Xavier Tetero holds a Master of Science degree in Water Resources and Environmental Management from the former National University of Rwanda in collaboration with UNESCO-IHE and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the same University.
