WACDEP Zimbabwe and GWP SA in their efforts to assist the Government of Zimbabwe through the Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate to enhance project preparation and financing for climate resilience and water security projects is looking for a National Consultant to support Water security and climate resilience Project Preparation and Financing in Zimbabwe.

The  Minister of Water and Sanitation, the Hon Nomvula Mokonyane,  has confirmed her wholehearted and enthusiastic support for the conference by endorsing the dates  3 – 7  November 2014,  and we urge all delegates and prospective delegates in turn to confirm their attendance and participation at the conference to the Secretariat.

The 2014 GWP Regional Days and Consulting Partners were held in Port of Spain, Trinidad, from 23 to 28 June 2014. The theme of this year's meeting was: “The GWP Strategy Towards 2020: Addressing Thematic Issues”.

A five day regional Training of Trainers workshop with the objective to “developing the capacity of stakeholders to better appreciate the impacts of climate change on water resources, and the ability to use the IWRM approach as a tool for climate change adaptation” was organized in Kinshasa from 12^th -16^th May 2014.

As a way of supporting the CGIAR Challenge Programme for Water and Food (CPWF, 2009-2013), approach in the Limpopo River basin, GWP SA is undertaking work for the Agricultural Research Council (ARC) to specifically package and disseminate the small scale infrastructure work package, a CPWF Research package that was undertaken on the Limpopo River Basin between 2009 -2013. The assignment with the ARC began in May 2014 and will be implemented until the end of 2014.

The International WaterCentre (IWC), in collaboration with GWP, is currently offering full scholarships (tuition fees and living expenses) for two high calibre candidates from developing countries to study the Master of Integrated Water Management programme (MIWM) in Australia next year. Read more

The WACDEP has launched its Young Professional Development Initiative. GWP is calling on Young Professionals in fields related to water management and development, who wish to enhance their professional capacity to express their interest in promoting youth and water engagement through the WACDEP country and regional programmes. Nine (9) Youth Professionals will serve on an internship basis in each of the eight WACDEP countries and in the WACDEP Coordination Unit (CU) in Pretoria, for a period of between six to twelve months.
