GWP and Partners Launch the MINIMAX Competition

On 24 March t he Global Water Partnership (GWP) , the  World Meteorological Organization (WMO) , and the Water and Climate Coalition launched the MINIMAX Competition , aimed at collecti ng and identifying  practical and innovative water and climate solutions that will improve drought and flood management. The Competition wa s announced during the launch of the GWP Toolbox: IWRM Action Hub at the of the 9 th World Water Forum . 

HOW

 

We would like to invite you to share your experiences and submit your solution by 1 June 2022 . All submissions should  anchor one of the four selected thematic areas: 

  • Finance: Enhancing water and climate finance 

  • WASH: Developing climate - smart water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) 

  • Youth: Empowering and engaging youth meaningfully 

  • Data: Leveraging water data and information  

SUBMISSIONS  

Submissions will be accepted in English, French, Russian, Chinese, and Spanish via the GWP Toolbox: IWRM Action Hub     

 

WHERE  

The competition is hosted on GWP Toolbox - IWRM Action Hub. MINIMAX Solutions will be featured on the GWP Toolbox: IWRM Action Hub and the Integrated Drought Management Program and Associated Program on Flood Management websites. Submitted solutions can join events as part of the Water and Climate Coalition's Activity Market Place. 

 

ELIGIBILITY 

The competition is open to any initiative or project contributing to improving flood and / or drought management. We encourage submissions from various sectors and stakeholder groups working across scales. MINIMAX Solutions with a strong social inclusion dimension, such as those coming from youth - and women - led initiatives, are particularly encouraged to apply. 

 

PRIZE 

There will be four Minimax Competition winners, one for each of the thematic areas. The four winners will be invited to present their MINIMAX Solution at an on-site session during Stockholm World Water Week in August 2022. The Prize includes travel, accommodation, and the registration fee for World Water Week in Stockholm.
