The AU-AIP Water Investment Summit 2025 is set to take place in August 2025 in South Africa. Convened within the framework of South Africa’s G20 Presidency, the Summit aims to elevate the political and economic status of water investments, enabling the continent to mobilise at least USD 30 billion annually for climate-resilient water and sanitation initiatives. The Summit aligns with the broader G20 agenda on economic growth, climate sustainability, and enhanced financing for development.
Preparatory Meeting: 19-20 March 2025
As part of the lead-up to this High-Level Summit, the African Union Commission, the Government of South Africa, and the the AIP High-Level Panel on Water Investments will convene a Preparatory Meeting on the sidelines of the International Water Association (IWA) Congress in Cape Town.
